For me, photography is a form of meditation. It forces me to be aware of my surroundings--to stop and notice all the small details. When I look at one of my photographs and it not only takes me back to that time and place, but it also brings back the emotion that I originally felt, then I have a good photo.

Streams are one of my favorite photographic subjects--the movement--the changing moods. Most of these shots were taken in Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, NC. Brevard is a wonderful small town in Western NC. It is a great place to live...work...and play!

Brevard, NC is known as the Land of Waterfalls. There are literally hundreds of waterfalls nearby--Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Forest, Gorges State Park offer some spectacular falls. Many more are on private property with property owners who are willing to open them to the thoughtful public.

The Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina is where I call home. Beautiful scenery...Four distinct seasons...Clear mountain streams and waterfalls...all add up to a multitude of photo ops! It is a beautiful part of the world.

Most of these photos were taken in, or near, Glacier National Park in Montana. It is one of my favorite places anytime of the year.

Sunrises and sunsets at the beach are special. I love to get out on the beach before daylight and watch the sky come alive. Most of these photos were taken near Topsail Island, NC, or Hilton Head Island, SC.
